Congenital heart disease in PEM The sick child with known congenital heart disease makes even the most experienced emergency clinician nervous. To manage these children we need to first understand the physiology of their conditions and any surgical procedures they may have had. This piece from the DFTB archive gives a great overview of congenital cardiac disease, management of a Tet Spell, common cardiac surgeries and the specifics of managing these children post op. I would highly recommend a read. Dr Danielle Scarfe
